Harbour is clear

With the sunny days that we have been having we might well wonder why we hauled all the boats out and winterized all the moorings; but we did, and winter is coming. With all the moorings on shore now it is time to do some maintanence and inspection. Here are some things that should be done every fall.
1 Carefully look over all of the components of your ‘top gear’ to check for signs of wear or deteriotion.

2. Make sure that your name or your boats name is clearly visible on your marker. If we find markers hanging around that are unidentified in the spring, they will be stamped RBC and used for club purposes.

3. Remove your float and headlines to your home or your boat. There are a number of floats hanging around in places that they should not stay. i.e. front of parking lot and back of herritage building.

4. Winter time is a good time to build new headlines and replace shackles etc. Remember to keep headlines short and new. Poly lines should never be used for more than two season. Nylon is prefered and can last three or four.

If you need advice on any of the above please don’t hesitate to ask.
