Commodores Message

Hello fellow boaters,
At this time I would like to thank everyone for their support over the last year. Many hands and minds make light work and help to keep things running smoothly.

This year we managed to get our hands on some much needed docks to make it safer for the use of our tenders. Another purchase was the hydraulic lift to accommodate the moving of the Sailboats. We think this was a good investment and will save the club money in the long run.
We enjoyed a few good functions at the club, St Patrick’s Day in March, Canada Day brunch, corn boil in Sept, and our Christmas party with a Santa with some different curves. We also participated again in the Dragon Boat Festival in August. The events for 2011 have already been assigned and we will be back on track with monthly functions as it was in the past. The committee did a fine job organizing the plan and a special thank you to Sharon Walker for spearheading the project.
I personally would like to apologize to the senior members of the club for not getting them out this year for what should have been a wonderful day on the river. The summer, although not short of glorious weather, seemed to disappear quickly. It is a high priority for me to accommodate you next year and God willing we’ll get it done.
There are some matters which we have taken up with the town this year as to the condition of our club, the ongoing sewerage problem and other issues that need to be addressed. We will continue to follow up with them in hopes that the needed repairs may be looked after in the near future.
I would like to thank specifically Eric Phinney for the time and effort he put into the Harbor.  I think this is the first year ever that we DID NOT lose a single boat off its mooring. I would also like to thank all the committees and executive for their support.
So another year has passed in our boating world. I hope everyone enjoyed a safe and happy year. We all felt the loss of some very dear friends, Rosemary and Brenda and our Prayers go out to Kevin and Ron. They will be missed dearly.
We also would like to give a warm welcome to the new members who joined the club in 2010.
We are looking forward to a safe and long boating season for 2011.

Best Regards,
Your 2010 Commodore,
Rheal Guimond
